About this project

A focused companion portal to The Expat Suite — built mobile-first, prioritizing quick access to the handful of things a returning user actually needs, rather than replicating the full resource hub in miniature.

A companion portal has a different job than the main platform: returning users already know what they're looking for, so the emphasis shifts from discovery to speed — fast load, minimal navigation depth, and a layout that holds up on the small screens most of its traffic actually arrives on.

The visual language stays consistent with the main Expat Suite platform so the two feel like one product, not two separate builds bolted together.

Navigation depth is capped deliberately low — most of what a returning user needs sits one tap from the portal's home screen, rather than nested behind menus designed for first-time discovery. That constraint shaped the whole information architecture, not just the visual layout.

Performance mattered more here than almost anywhere else in the portfolio: a portal a user checks repeatedly on mobile data, sometimes from a country with patchy connectivity, has to load fast every single time, not just on a good connection in a demo.
